Emotion and Your Brain
Are you interested in how emotions affect the brain? The BRAINS lab is seeking participants (ages 12-23) for a study of how emotional symptoms affect the brain. Specifically, we are interested in brain activity in regions related to cognition and emotion, and how this activity may further our understanding of mental health. This study is comprised of a series of measures, including a clinical interview, measuring brain waves with EEG, completing ratings of your mood on a phone app throughout the day for 1 week, scanning with MRI, and completing cognitive tests. We ask that, prior to participating in this study, participants first complete a separate survey battery study that will take between 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. Participants will be compensated with a $10 gift card or course credit for completing this survey battery. The study involves an interview over zoom and two in-person visits. For completing all elements of the study, you will be compensated with a $100 gift card. If you'd like to participate, please email the BRAINS lab at brains.lab@vanderbilt.edu or call us at 615-343-6926.
